In the Negev Highlands, within the desert riverbed of Wadi Zin, Ein-Avdat
is an oasis rich with Geological,
Hydrological,
Botanical, Zoological and
Archeological phenomena which create an unique
Ecosystem that is habitat for many
plants and animal species. The two kilometers long and narrow canyon is
home to ibex, fat sand rats and rock doves.
In ancient times it was a watering site for Bedouin nomads and
contemplation place for monks from the nearby Byzantine city of Avdat.
