Slightly behind the promised date but more complete because of the delay,
here is the latest update of information for the 12th annual conference
to
be held in Ireland.
The Bulletin contains information on the following:
Delegation Registration;
Delegate Registration;
Project Description;
Payment
of Deposit; Deadline reminder; Communication; Letters of Invitation.
There are two separate forms for full Registration of group delegations
and
individual delegates. A third form requests that each delegation descibe
their project and how it relates to the themes of the conference.
Deadlines: we set originally a target of February 9th for the full
application but this is now set at March 1st. A deposit of £70
sterling per
delegate must be paid into the following account by the same date.
FIRST TRUST BANK
50 HIGH STREET
ANTRIM BT41 4DS
NORTHERN IRELAND
Account number 03197086
Bank sort code 93-81-57
Can accept electronic transfer.
The remainder (£80) sterling per delegate must be paid by May
15th.
Please note that all applications are to be sent to Andrew Cox at Newtown
School.
With regards to Communication, we will continue to improve our internet
service to you. There are 45 delegations who have registered by e-mail
and
we will endeavour to send most of the information to these delegations
through hyperspace. Those who have requested a formal invitation at
this
stage to obtain funding will be sent this by ordinary mail along with
hard
copy of information posted by e-mail. I assume that everyone else is
happy
to download information themselves. If you are unhappy with this
arrangement, please let me know.
I will ask David Lloyd to put up an online registration and project
submission form on the International website. This will then come straight
to me. Within a week, we hope to have our own information posted at
the
Newtown school website. I will let you know when this facility
is ready.
It will act as the official conference site. It will be possible to
register online at the site within a week (I hope!).
F.A.Q's
1. Can I check in on Saturday 27th June?
Yes, the cost is £10 for Bed and
Breakfast at the school where the first leg of the conference is to
be
held.
2. How do I get to Waterford?
Flight to Dublin. Buses
will depart for Waterford (170 km) at set
times. This will be included in your registration fee.
3. How do I get back to Dublin at the end of
the conference?
A train ticket will be provided
to Dublin. there will be a limited
number of choices on when the tickets can be used due to group
restrictions. This again will be part of the fee.
4. Does the £150 registration fee include
food and accommodation?
All food and accommodation
will be provide from lunch on Sunday
28th June to breakfast on July 5th, 1998. As stated, bed and breakfast
will
be provide to delegates who arrive on Saturday but this will cost an
extra
£10 per delegate. This must be paid on arrival, when checking
in.
5. Will I have to share a bedroom?
On the first leg at Newtown
school, delegates will be staying in a
mixture of boarding school accommodation, ranging from 2 to 6 person
rooms.
Obviously, we will try to ensure that the smaller rooms are assigned
to the
adults. My own personal experience of previous conferences would suggest
that there is a great deal to be gained from a reasonable level
of mixing
of delegates. On the second leg in Coleraine, delegates will have their
own
individual rooms.
